Attorney and Counselor at Law

Licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia

I am originally from Germany. I met my husband, a U.S. Army helicopter pilot, while he was stationed in Fulda, Germany. During my husband’s career the family moved several times in Germany between Fulda, Schweinfurt, and Buedigen, then to Ft. Campbell, Kentucky, from Ft. Campbell back to Buedigen, and in 2002 from Buedigen to Ft. Eustis. At that time we decided to make our home in Williamsburg, Virginia.

Our family has been blessed with three children who are all adults now and in pursued of their own careers. Each one had their own trials and tribulations, but I am very proud of the young adults my children have become. During our children’s early years I stayed home to take care of the “Home Front” and provide stability in our children’s lives while my husband focused on his career. To help out financially I worked in Real Estate. Frequent moves, several deployments and the decision to take care of our children and household did not leave any time to focus on my own career.

Our family became a Gold Star Family in 2011 when my husband passed away. This was the time when I had to start anew. It was a challenging time; but, also a time of tremendous growth.

From a relatively young age I was interested in becoming an attorney, but my parents had different ideas. Then I got married and had a family. Of course, born and raised in Germany, I, never in my wildest dreams, envisioned to become an Attorney in the United States. You could say I had to take a few detours to get where I am today.

I graduated in January 2015 magna cum laude from the College of William and Mary with a B.A. in Sociology and in 2018 from the T. C. Williams School of Law at the University of Richmond with a Juris Doctor. As a Student Attorney at the University of Richmond’s Jeanette Lipman Legal Clinic for Families and Children I was, under supervision of my professor, the “lead attorney” in my first custody hearing. After passing the Virginia Bar I worked for one year as a volunteer attorney at the Legal Aid Society of Eastern Virginia’s Williamsburg office. Through my work at Legal Aid I gained valuable experiences in every aspect of Family Law, including matters related to Military Divorces.

Family should be a safe place where each and every one can feel secure. But, as we all know, life sometimes takes an unexpected turn. I have seen firsthand what heartbreak, stress, and emotional turmoil it can cause when a family is on the brink of dissolving. If your family is heading in that direction you should not have to go through this alone. You need a strong legal advocate on your side.

During my time in real estate I excelled in meeting my clients’ goals by carefully listening to their wants and needs and drafting and negotiating their contract accordingly to protect their best interest.

I pledge to carefully and compassionately listen to your problems, zealously advocate for your best interest, and help you to resolve your legal challenges to get your life back on track.

I am looking forward to meeting you.
